NYS SAFE BOATING COURSE

NEED YOUR BOATING SAFETY CERTIFICATE?

Under Brianna’s Law, all motor boat and personal watercraft operators (regardless of age) will need a boating safety certificate beginning in 2025.

Operators of non-motorized watercraft (e.g., sailboats, kayaks, paddleboards, canoes, rowboats) are not required to have a boating safety certificate. However, it’s always a good idea to take a boating safety course for your own knowledge and safety.
